WHO WE ARE

Cosmid Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a creative production studio. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, https://cosmid.io, how we use it, and your rights. If you have any questions, contact us via the contact form.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Information you send us

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and the message you write, along with the fact that you accepted this policy. We only use this to reply to you and to deal with your enquiry. The form is processed by a third-party form service on our behalf, so your submission passes through, and may be stored by that provider before it reaches us.

Information collected automatically

Our website is a simple static site. We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors. Like any website, the servers that deliver it (our hosting provider and the content delivery networks described below) receive your IP address and basic technical details such as your browser type and the page requested. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure, and may be kept in routine server logs.

Third-party services used by this site

• Fonts: the site loads the Figtree typeface from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is sent to Google when a page loads.
• Animations: the animation library used on the site is loaded from the cdnjs content delivery network (run by Cloudflare), which receives your IP address when a page loads.
• Embedded video: our showreel is hosted on Vimeo. Nothing is loaded from Vimeo until you click play. Once you do, Vimeo's player loads, and Vimeo may collect data about you and set cookies, in line with its own privacy policy. We ask the player not to track you, but we do not control how Vimeo handles that request.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

We use the information you send us to respond to your enquiry and, if you go on to work with us, to carry out that work. We rely on our legitimate interests in running our business and answering enquiries, and on your consent where you choose to contact us. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to.

WILL YOUR INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH ANYONE?

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the website and handle enquiries (for example, our hosting, form and email providers), and where we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a court order or a request from a public authority.

DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

This website does not set cookies of its own and does not use analytics or advertising trackers, so there is no cookie banner. The only exception is third-party content you choose to load, such as the Vimeo showreel described above, which may set its own cookies once you play it. You can control or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and browser extensions such as Ghostery or uBlock Origin can block third-party content if you prefer.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We keep enquiry messages only for as long as needed to respond and to run any resulting project, and no longer than one year after our last contact with you unless a longer period is required by law (for example for tax or accounting purposes). After that we delete or anonymise them. Server logs held by our providers are kept according to their own retention policies.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we handle, and the site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Under UK data protection law (and similar laws elsewhere) you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and, where we rely on your consent, to withdraw that consent at any time. To make a request, use the contact form.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), or to your local data protection authority if you live elsewhere.

DATA BREACH

If a breach affecting your personal information occurs and is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and notify the relevant supervisory authority within the time limits required by law.

DO-NOT-TRACK SIGNALS

As we do not track visitors across websites or run analytics, there is nothing for a Do-Not-Track signal to switch off on our own pages.

DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS POLICY?

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Updated” date at the top shows when it last changed, and the new version applies as soon as it is published here.
