Process

Experience has taught us the importance of following an agreed process. It doesn’t have to be complex and restrictive, it just has to ensure all parties are clear on how things will run at the outset, and what our responsibilities are to each other from start to finish.

In the creative space, just as in any walk of life, partnership and a shared vision lead to the best results. All our processes are designed to ensure that all stakeholders can have their say, and at the right time, so that we can enjoy the fruits of our labour as friends at the end. That said, our process is never so rigid that it can’t respond to changing circumstances (and let’s face it, a project will almost always evolve), so above all we value communication, transparency and openness along the way.

All of our areas of expertise have terminology specific to them, but there is a common pattern. You can expect something like this:

"Oh yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run from it, or learn from it."

Brief and scope

You provide us with a brief, to which we respond with our understanding and ideas (reverse brief).

Following this, we have an open and frank discussion, which results in an agreed project specification including an agreed scope, budget and timeline.

  • Client brief
  • Our ‘reverse brief’
  • Agreed project specification which includes:
    • Scope
    • Budget
    • Timeline
  • Contract
  • Payment schedule

Pre-production

Depending on the type of project, we create outlines, scripts, storyboards, wireframes, design and style examples, and administrative documents.

Through rounds of approval with you, we create the formatted documents to take into production.

  • Agreed project specification
  • Approval rounds
  • Signed off scripts, designs, wireframes
  • Technical specifications
  • Administrative documents or plans

Production and post-production

We may be filming first, or building all the visual assets and layouts we need.

Then we’ll put them all together in increasing detail as video edits, motion or animation builds, or alpha versions of a website – we’ll share iterations for feedback along the way.

  • Signed off documents from pre-production
  • Your feedback on iterations
  • Iterations of our project, starting simple, finishing with assets with the highest polish

Delivery and support

With most of the hard work done now, we release our creation into the wild! How involved this phase is will depend on the type of project.

We will have agreed on the type and level of launch and ongoing support you need at the outset.

  • Signed off assets from production and post production
  • High resolution videos
  • Live website
  • Print ready files
  • High resolution artwork

Pricing

Pricing must be carefully considered on a per project basis, and it’s unhelpful to a hasty ball-park from the air. Instead we’ll break the brief down, and estimate the components of a project individually – this way we can all visualise the effort required at each stage.

And, if project circumstances or scope changes along the way, we’ll re-estimate accordingly.

We track our time on each project accurately, and any savings on estimates will be passed on to you.

So please go ahead and drop us a line about your next project.
